Hunger

Ok so I'm not technically starving...but I am hungry. More in the sense that I'm craving stuff more and more! So as of this past Tuesday I've lost 20 pounds in first month of this post op. The doctor chose to not fill my band with the first adjustment of saline since I have been doing so well (no sickness, no overeating, no heartburn and a good loss to start). I'll see him again in December before I head home for the states unless I feel an adjustment is needed before then (due to me gaining weight...I had to finally buy a scale...yuck, eating more than I feel I should...that kind of thing). Now that I'm allowed to have some solids I'm a craving freak! My first Subway sandwich was great! I got the mini sub, no mayo and just a small amount of veggies so as not to overload myself...oh it was a roast beef sub on that 7 grain wheat bread. I ate it slowly and probably left half the bread for the trash! I'm still going to be taking it easy; meaning I've still got some soups left to slurp down and will continue to do that every now than. Oh and I'm still doing a protein shake once every other day for a meal. I usually do that at breakfast but I think for today it'll be dinner.
Ok back to my cravings...it's not that I can't have these things its just that I haven't had a chance yet or a craving so bad for it I've run after it!
Chinese...boy oh boy what I wouldn't give for some sushi and a little sweet and sour pork, rice and shu mai dumplings! Oh lordy that sounds so heavenly! Of course the 10 euro price tag for the lunch buffet has kept me from going so far. It's not a bad price but I'd be eating a kids portion at the most...I highly doubt they'll go for charging me the kids price LOL So I look at the Sushi Wok longingly for now until I can no longer stand it!
Pizza...I'd probably get maybe 2 pieces down at the most but right now I highly doubt my kids would jump for joy if I bought the grilled veggie pizza and called it dinner! They are totally into just the cheese or the wurstel pizzas right now. So now how do we three compromise? ooo maybe I'll get a cheese and just add my own grilled veggies! This is so on the menu for next week now!
Cheeseburgers...I love cheeseburgers. I rarely turn down the chance to eat one. Of course right now Burger King is shut down due to issues with their stove hoods or something so that really helps curb that craving. Can't get a cheeseburger (kid sized anyway) unless I break down and head into town and pay euro for one at BK or McDs. I think I'll hold off as long as I can on the cheeseburgers anyway. I'd love to be able to not have one until I get home to OK for Christmas and have my first burger post surgery at Braums.
Taco Bell...see I'm thinking all my cravings are a little bad for me here...but I still would love something from there. Even if it is one soft taco! I may just make us a taco salad though...mmm now that sounds good too.
Lasagne...now this one won't be too hard! J has actually been asking me to make this for a few weeks now. I promised him that once I could eat solids again I'd make some up! So guess what's going on my menu shopping list!!!
Pumpkin soup...I really have to either get over to Casa Bianca for some or see if I can get Amanda to share her recipe with me! So good on these cold days.
Vino...oh how I'd love a small glass of vino! I'm holding off until the family arrives for that though.
Soda...now I'm not a huge soda drinker to begin with so technically it's the bubbles I miss. I have to find out if I'll ever get the fizz back cause I'm really starting to miss my frizzante water! And a nice small Coke now and then would be lovely but it's a cut I'm willing to make if I must.
And last but not least a big holiday meal! Turkey, dressing, cranberries, pie, taters, etc. etc. etc! Oh now I really can't wait for Christmas!

ooh girl, you are just torturing yourself! but i hear ya, you always want what you can't have... but you have some good spin-off's on a few of those - taco salad, getting the burger when u go back home, add your own veggies to the pizza. i'm so proud of you girl, you are doing so great!!
