Sunday afternoon I was home in my own bed...can we get a hallelujah! Let's just get another one for the fact that my whole hospital stay and surgery was normal and uneventful!!!
My hubby took me bright and early Thursday morning. We did some preleminary things with the doc and nurses then I had until 6 pm until I had to be back in my room. So we spent the day driving around Vicenza, took a power nap in the car, and even took a nice walk and had a cappuccino! When he left me an hour or so later my first taste of fear set in. I was humbled in prayer that very second. I stood tears streaming down my face praying for me peace to come back while the whole time He stood next to me calming my soul. I think I prayed the whole hospital between my room and the operating table. I woke to glorious pain...yes I said glorious! It meant I was alive and all went well. From that day on I was just in and out of sleep.
Now I'm home. The best nurse ever is taking care of my needs...thank goodness I have my hubby. I'm up and moving, eating, still resting some, but slowly on the road to recovery. By next week I can add cream soups to my liquid diet! See it's the little things that make me happy!
